When it comes to installing a new bathroom in your home, there are lots of factors to consider in terms of how much it will cost. For example, the price of a bathroom for a new-build will vary from one which is part of a renovation, as this will generally also require the removal of the previous bathroom before installing the new one. There are also things to consider such as the size of the bathroom, whether you want bespoke items and what type of products you choose to fit the space, which all affect the final overall price.
With all that in mind, it’s impossible to provide one figure to suit everyone. However, we can give you a guide to starting prices and what it might cost in 2024 to install a new bathroom, so you have something to work from if you’re planning a revamp in the New Year.
Key factors which will affect your bathroom costs:
Whether it’s a renovation or a new-build bathroom installation
Bathroom size
Bathroom-ware/products you want to include
Choice of tiling/flooring
Material costs
Labour costs
Installing a new bathroom will range in price, depending on the size and what products you choose.
Bathroom installation costs
Perhaps the highest cost associated with bathroom fittings is the installation itself, which will vary from tradesperson to tradesperson, but should be budgeted for from the outset. It’s easy to get distracted by choosing products to fit into the bathroom but if you forget to include the costs of installation, then you could be in for a surprise when the time comes to fit everything.
Again, the cost will depend on the fitter you choose, as well as the size of the bathroom and whether you also need to factor in costs for removing an existing bathroom, if you’re doing a renovation project. Most tradespeople charge by the day, which can range widely, so it’s all about shopping around and seeing who is available, what their rate is and the time they expect to complete the project in.
You’ll also need to consider associated costs around plastering, electrics, painting, tiling and putting down flooring, all of which will likely require different tradespeople at different rates.
While we don’t fit bathrooms at Bathshack, we do have some contacts for tradespeople in our showrooms, so can pass these on at customers’ requests. We don’t, however, work directly with any fitters so any contract you might enter into with them would be solely between you and the fitter.
In 2021, the average cost of installing a bathroom was in and around the £800-£3,000 mark, but more realistically, was upwards of £1,000. In 2024, costs have risen slightly, so you can expect this to be around £1,000+ and more likely somewhere from £1,500 and upwards for a full bathroom fit-out.
Whether you want a basic bathroom fit-out or are looking for more luxury bathroom products, we have a great range of choice at Bathshack.
Bathroom-ware costs
After installation fees, there is, of course, the price of the products themselves which, again will vary from person-to-person and according to bathroom size and so on. Whether you’re going for a more basic bathroom, want something mid-range or are interested in something more designer, costs will vary.
At Bathshack we stock a wide range of high-quality bathroom products, with something to suit all styles and budgets. Our prices are all very competitive and, for guidance, we’ve included the price ranges for the key products you might want to install in your bathroom space below.
Baths
With fitted, straight, corner and freestanding baths available – including luxury and more standard designs – our baths start from £139 and range upwards to £5,349 for our luxury tubs, with lots of cost-effective options in-between.
The Nuie Mayford Floorstanding Gloss White Cabinet and Ceramic Square Basin.
The Josef Martin Tullagh Four-door Floorstanding Vanity Unit and Basin in Basalt.
Our basins, meanwhile, start from just £39 for a standard wall basin, ranging up to £459 for a Belfast sink and waste for the kitchen, to £689 for a Shaws Cleaner’s High-back Sink.
Showers
When it comes to showers, we have a fantastic variety available, with prices starting at just £39 for a thermostatic shower kit. These range upwards to more than £1,000 for a Smart-control Rainshower System. Again, it really all depends on what you want, as there are lots of mid-range shower kits with different functionalities, designs and finishes – something to suit all tastes and budgets.
If you want to purchase a complete bathroom suite in one fell swoop, without having to select individual items yourself, then our bathroom suite packages are ideal – and great-value for money. These range from £299 for basic bathroom suites which include a vanity, basin mixer and waste, right up to £2,749 for more luxury packages with freestanding baths and products with brushed brass finishes, for example. Mid-range suites also include toilets, showers and baths, so there are lots of options and price points to choose from, according to your preferences and budget.
We recommend our bathroom suites if you want to get all your essential bathroom-ware as specially hand-picked by our expert team, with all items matching and no hassle in searching for everything individually yourself.
Our complete bathroom suites are very convenient for kitting out your bathroom and come in a range of options.
