FAQs

No, we don’t fit floors at Bathshack but if you speak to our showroom team in-store we can recommend local independent fitters, if required.

Please note: Any traders mentioned do not work with Bathshack, so any contract you enter into is with them only.

Our solid wood flooring at Bathshack is actually very well-suited to bathrooms as it’s made from engineered wood, so is composed of multiple layers of bonded plywood, topped off with a layer of solid wood.

As a result, our solid wooden floors don’t contract in the same way as general wood flooring, making it more compatible with humid spaces like bathrooms.

It can also be re-sanded during its lifetime, so you can freshen it up further down the line, while it’s also available in a range of colours and designs.

Vinyl flooring is a synthetic material which replicates the look of real wood or stone flooring. It’s more durable than laminate and great for higher traffic areas, such as hallways and bathrooms.

We supply high-quality Pergo vinyl flooring which is waterproof and also has a water-repellent layer which, once installed, is watertight, so it’s great for bathrooms and kitchens.

With a range of designs and styles to choose from, vinyl flooring is a very versatile and affordable choice for your home.

If you have a large bathroom then installing a radiator will heat the space more efficiently as heated towel rails are primarily for warming towels and do not provide the same heat output as radiators.

They will warm the surrounding space but in a larger bathroom, won’t have the same cosy effect as a radiator.

Smaller bathrooms might work well with just a towel rail, if you don’t have enough space for a radiator, although you can always go down the wall-mounted route for these as well.

For larger bathrooms, radiators will heat the space more efficiently and effectively and they can be complemented by towel rails if you want the added benefits of warm towels. Smaller bathrooms can also use both but, depending on how much room you have, a towel rail by itself can work well, even though its primary function is to heat towels and not rooms. However, they do heat the space immediately surrounding them, so if you have a very compact bathroom then they can help to heat it up even if you don’t have a radiator.

Underfloor heating is another increasingly popular option for heating bathrooms and can be used with tiles, vinyl and laminate flooring. Again, it can be used in combination with radiators and/or towel rails and will create a cosy room which is also warm underfoot.

Underfloor heating is a great option for your interior as it means you don’t have to install a radiator, which is particularly useful if you don’t have the space for one.

Compatible with tiles, as well as vinyl and laminate flooring, underfloor heating will keep your bathroom cosy and brings the added luxury of a warm floor underfoot.

It’s also very energy-efficient and a cost-effective option for your home, as well as being easy to clean and maintain.

At Bathshack, we supply a wide range of high-quality flooring, including tiles, laminate floors, vinyl flooring and solid wood floors. We also supply flooring accessories including skirting, underlay, tools and adhesives.

Laminate flooring has the look of real wood or stone but is made from multiple layers of plywood or fibreboard, with an underlayment or backing board often included at the base for added water-resistance and soundproofing.

Great if you want to get the look of real timber or stone without the high price tag, laminate flooring is very versatile and an affordable choice for your home.

We offer a variety of heating options, including everything from traditional-style radiators to designer and traditional heated towel rails, as well as underfloor heating.

We also supply various heating accessories, such as radiator valves, thermostats and radiator towel rail hooks and rails.

Towel rails are designed to warm towels in your bathroom, but also heat the immediate space around them so they can be useful in helping to heat smaller bathrooms as well. Towel rails can be dual-fuel, electric-only, or work off your central heating. They’re available in a range of sizes and finishes and are wall-mounted, so save on space in your bathroom.
